Taking The Rose Goggles Off

This is my new blog where I will post things that make you go hmmm. There are many issues that people wonder about, but don't ask or talk about. With global communication, we as a people can now compare notes in ways we couldn't before. It's a fascinating time re: communication. It's a chance to be a lion among the sheep. Speak up, and voice your opinion. You only have one voice box? So did Susan B. Anthony and other pioneers of civil rights that took great risks to try to bring about change or stop harmful change like the squashing of the basic human rights this country was founded on. Keep an eye your rights. Watch the legislation that threatens them, and let your lawmakers know your views. It's easier today with petition sites set up like www.care2.com . Always question things. Do your own research. A Constitution cannot protect itself. For too long the Powers-That-Be have been circumventing the fundamental citizen rights that our forefathers intended through various Amendments. People go about their business in their own little worlds day after day. Interact with people. Take out the ipod earphones and talk to one another about what's going on in the world today. Throughout the history of this country, it has been Youth that brought about change. Today we have our youth hooked on image and entertainment. Entertain them 24 hours a day, and they won't have time to think or notice the changes happening that effect all of us. Everything is connected; we are all connected. The American Civil Liberties Union is a great place to start if you're interested in the civil rights that we still have left. I won't even get into the so-called 'Patriot Act'. That's a-whole-nother story. The following youtube video sums it up quite well; Thomas Payne enactment of what our forefathers would say about what's going on in America:
